An exceptional location in the heart of the Grand Cru vineyards

Just outside the Château du Clos de Vougeot, L’Orée des Vignes welcomes you to a typical Burgundian village with deep ties to the history of the Cistercian Order. The property itself bears witness to this history: a former 16th-century farmhouse, likely connected to the monks of Cîteaux, whose abbey is less than ten minutes away.

Located on the Route des Grands Crus, we are at the heart of the greatest appellations of the Côte de Nuits: Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. An ideal starting point for wine tourism in Burgundy, just 10 minutes from Nuits-Saint-Georges and 30 minutes from Beaune and Dijon.

A village with a remarkable Cistercian heritage

Gilly-lès-Cîteaux preserves many reminders of its monastic past. The Château de Gilly, the former residence of the Abbots, and the Grange de Saulx, built in the 13th century, stand alongside our property to form a rare heritage complex, just a few minutes from the vineyards listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The route des Grands Crus by Bike

L’Orée des Vignes is located just a few meters from the Route des Grands Crus bike path. It’s an invitation to explore the most beautiful wine-growing villages of the Côte de Nuits at your own pace, passing by prestigious cellars and grand estates, before returning to the tranquility of our garden.
